First the good: we've got a new stylist at Gel. Her name is Wendy, and she's got an amazing sense of style. Anyone looking for a makeover that includes a fresh, funky cut or color needs to make an appointment. Stay posted for her bio, as soon as we can connect on it for publication.

And now the not so: yeah, you know how soaring gas prices are driving up the cost of virtually everything else? Sadly, at Gel we are not immune. After 5 years on the corner here we'll be forced to raise our prices on some services, like colors & highlighting. However, we're holding the line on cuts (at least for now). I wish I could say they'll come down when gas prices do, but most experts (at least those in touch with reality) say that's not likely to happen.

From Gel, of course! For all you craigslist crawlers, you may already know that I've got a whole bunch of great Schwinns, Raleighs, and other vintage (and just old and interesting) bikes for sale. One of them has YOUR name on it, too (haha). Or at least it COULD. So if you're in the shop getting a new style or just want to get out there and cruise Park Ave or wherever you might be, check them out. I'll be glad to show you one of these lovingly restored or yet-to-be restored bikes. BTW, I do all the loving restoration, in case you managed to escape that fact.

All is well at Gel. I've got a new tranny for the Gel-Mobile, and it great having it back on the road. We're all wanting spring to arrive, even tho it's a month away! Hey, why wait?
